I am not at all suprised.He has done all the things he has threatened. He will continue. I do know one thing as a Canadian I am not afraid of this man,I am disturbed and angry and I am certain many reading this might say calm down,but Canadians are tough as fuck and we won't let him roll over us,he will regret the day he said the words he said.He will be Ceausescued and I am ok with this....
This is a real concern not just online but in casual conversations in the workplace. Americans believe Trump is just bluffing but people who know him are generally aware he will eventually do what he says.

I am Canadian and I have asked this on substact several times.
I think this is a valid question that Americans need to think about, both sides lose but if history repeats then we will come out eventually the winners and why I say this is we have far more to lose than you Americans, look at Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan & Iraq. Look at Ukraine.
It’s actually a lot worse than that. An attack on Canada would be considered to be an attack on all NATO countries who are bound to come to Canada’s defence. It could also involve other Commonwealth Countries such as India and Australia.
Trump really does seem to think that we're weak or that we would love to be invited to join the States. He has miscalculated badly. Canadians are usually quiet about it, but we are proud of our culture, and we will fight to keep it if we have to. An invasion will not end well.
We can be sure that Trump will announce in advance his intentions. Most likely saying something like, “we may have to go up there and straighten them out!”. The point of this being to get the American people to believe the following action is not really an invasion. Militia would certainly be used to create friction at the border and for more self justification for later action. The military component of the invasion would be limited at least at first. Probably a quick rush across the border to capture the Ottawa airport. We saw the Russians attempt something very similar when they started their invasion of Ukraine and it was the defeat of the airborne troops that gave the Ukrainians their first big lift and convinced the allies to send more weapons and ammo. In an invasion attempt on Canada. Trump would be looking to get the Canadian government to resign and accept some quisling who would set up a fake plebiscite to rubber stamp annexation that would follow later. That, I think, would be the general outlines of their plan, to avoid the major population centers and concentrate on leveraging a quick thrust to Ottawa into a negotiated capitulation. That would be their plan but they would be as wrong as Putin was in his attempt on Ukraine.
This Canadian has talked with many Veterans, in many legion halls, and they see this a mile away. First incursion into Canada, and this Citizen is at war. I will not wait for my leaders, or government, as I don't have to, by law. Our first job, if we want to be Canadian, is defend our country, and I will. I will die Canadian.

If tRump chose to cross the border in armed conflict with Canada, he better be prepared for a civil war at home. There I have said it!!
