From the Inside Out, Trump is Hollowing Out our Nation
What we are facing is an imminent national implosion. Surely, it is only a matter of time before the Trump regime’s abject stupidity, boundless arrogance, blind allegiance, wanton cruelty and endless incompetence lead to multiple catastrophes.
One word best describes the destructive cast of MAGA characters invading our cherished institutions: Termites.
They represent an invasive species hellbent on devouring the American house from the inside out. It’s a harsh analysis, but if anything, understates how they are hollowing out our country and feasting on our future. There is no action they have taken that doesn’t significantly deteriorate the United States, while bolstering Russia and China.
Since the January 20 inauguration, our citizens have become poorer, sicker, weaker, dumber and our population is more vulnerable than at any time since the Great Depression. What’s heartbreaking is that such wanton destruction of world superpowers historically comes from barbarians storming the gates. Our national demolition, tragically, is not at the hands of a marauding Genghis Khan, but an inside job by a gang of cons.
These heartless criminals are termites, feasting on America’s foundation, while we sit rather helplessly watching our home crumble into dust before our eyes. Even if a powerful resistance materializes, the damage wrought by this cabal will be so extensive, fixing the mess will be like gluing Humpty Dumpty back together.
The only question remaining is whether the wrecking ball is deliberately perfidious or incompetently insidious. Is our president trying to Make Russia Great Again or is he so remarkably inept that his default mode is turning everything he touches into a bankrupt Trump casino or Trump University?
The orange ogre was elected to fix the economy, specifically lowering prices. Yet, the cost of eggs has increased, and every time Trump flaps his lips Wall Street whimpers—due to uncertainty turbocharged by Trump’s insanity. The chaotic and irrational way Trump is introducing, then retracting tariffs, makes one seriously wonder if he is furtively manipulating markets to enrich his family.
Perhaps, Trump is mimicking the Russian economic model under Putin? If Trump intentionally crashes the market, he can drive up inflation and create insurmountable debt for business owners. Then, he and a few of his handpicked oligarchs, could ravenously gobble up failed companies and entire industries at pennies to the dollar, while becoming incalculably wealthy and powerful. Meanwhile, the rest of us become serfs, beholden to their “generous” handouts and backbreaking jobs if we are “lucky” enough to get them.
Like you, I’m perplexed on why these termites are transforming American power into dust and am searching for a reasonable motive behind the absolute madness. What I can say unequivocally, is that if one despised the United States and was trying to decimate it, they couldn’t do a better job than what we have so far seen from Trump and his quislings. New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg neatly summarized a few of Trump’s actions designed to pulverize American power:
A few months ago, if people had predicted that Trump would cut off intelligence-sharing with Ukraine, destroy U.S.A.I.D., free all the Jan. 6 convicts, put his lackey Kash Patel in charge of the F.B.I. and turn us into a despised enemy of Canada, they’d have been accused of unhinged political hatred. As Nick Catoggio wrote in The Dispatch, Trump’s second term is “shaping up to be what doomsayers thought his first term would be.”
If Trump’s lickspittles refuse to see that, it could be because facing up to reality — that they are party to the deconstruction of a once-great superpower — is at once shameful and frightening. Far easier to invent a Trump who isn’t there, a canny savant whose policy lurches are driven by some unseen strategic logic.
Trump, obviously, is no great sage--he’s far more Putin than Rasputin. At first, the world chuckled at Trump’s musings to take back the Panama Canal, rape wartime Ukraine for its mineral resources, absorb Greenland and annex Canada.
No one is laughing anymore, with the world on edge because America has tumbled over a cliff. In a statement that would have shocked the senses only months ago, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke chillingly of Trump’s nefarious motives for harassing Canada.
“The excuse that he’s giving for these tariffs today of fentanyl is completely bogus, completely unjustified, completely false,” said Trudeau. “What he wants is to see a total collapse of the Canadian economy, because that’ll make it easier to annex us.”
One might think Trudeau is exaggerating, but it’s becoming clear that Trump is utterly unhinged and what was recently unthinkable is suddenly on the geopolitical table. The New York Times elaborated on why Canadians are rightfully concerned:
He [Trump] wanted to eject Canada out of an intelligence-sharing group known as the Five Eyes that also includes Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
He wanted to tear up the Great Lakes agreements and conventions between the two nations that lay out how they share and manage Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario.
And he is also reviewing military cooperation between the two countries, particularly the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
In subsequent communications between senior Canadian officials and Trump advisers, this list of topics has come up again and again, making it hard for the Canadian government to dismiss them.
So, in this topsy-turvy new world, Canada and Denmark are our sworn enemies, while authoritarian countries are our besties. As someone who deeply loves his country, it’s painful to acknowledge that we are a rogue nation on the wrong side of history. America can no longer be trusted by our former allies, especially when it comes to sharing intelligence with Tulsi Gabbard, who is a Russian Puppet who Trump named Director of National Intelligence.
We are now the bad guy, joining the ranks of reprobate countries like North Korea, Iran, Russia and Hungary. Instead of working to be a force for good, we speak vulgar words, carry out evil deeds and take glee in destabilizing the globe.
There have been times that I fervently disagreed with American foreign policy, such as our baseless invasion of Iraq. But never have I contemplated fighting (or at least cheering) for the other side. If war broke out today, without hesitation, I’m on Team Canada, Team Panama, Team Greenland and Team Europe. Like termites, MAGA is an invasive species eating the soul of our democracy. Not even our beloved veterans are safe from this coup-in-progress, with Trump firing them from government jobs without valid reasons.
What we are facing is an imminent national implosion. We could see our economy in ruins, the rise of China at our expense, the demise of life-saving weather science, the US downgraded to global pariah status, and even a World War caused by Trump’s inexplicable appeasement towards Putin.
There is also a growing possibility that we could suffer a new global pandemic caused by our stupefyingly moronic gutting of key global health agencies. Of all the ill-advised programs that Elon Musk hacked with his chainsaw, arguably most heedless were those that worked to curtail deadly infectious diseases.
Having recently lived through the severe, world-altering impact of Covid, why would any right-thinking person flirt with a reprise of that dreadful experience? Yet, that is precisely what the ketamine-addled Musk is doing. He is firing brilliant scientists whose life’s work is nipping new overseas diseases in the bud before they reach America’s shores. The personal pathologies of Musk could very well lead to the spread of new deadly pathogens. As The Atlantic points out, “excessive use of the drug [ketamine] can make anyone feel like they rule the world.”
In Congo, there is a new unidentified pestilence ravaging villages with horrific Ebola-like symptoms. Wired reports that Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency has decimated America’s ability to identify and fight diseases:
“Medical staff along the Uganda–DRC border have been terminated. Soldiers are everywhere. The laboratory built to deal with zoonotic diseases with US funding is empty,” says Tim Allen, a London School of Economics professor and tropical-disease-control expert on the ground at the border of Uganda and the DRC.
Aside from protecting American lives, abruptly slashing US aid, so greedy billionaires like Musk can get new tax cuts, is an act of extraordinary cruelty that will cause mountains of misery and death. The US Embassy in Kinshasa reports that US health programs saved 11 million lives in 2024 “for diseases including tuberculosis, HIV, diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria.”
Trump’s foreign policy has transformed America from a beacon of hope into a nasty rotten, miserable country with sociopathic inclinations. Without a thought or care, a movement that has long defined itself as “pro-life”, is willing to put millions of lives in jeopardy.
One wonders what people so unflinchingly brutal and devoid of love, decency or mercy are willing to eventually do to American dissenters or protesters at home? One clue of their alarming lack of empathy is how Robert Kennedy Jr., director of Health and Human Services, has downplayed the disastrous spread of measles, which was caused by his deranged attacks on vaccines. Two people have already died of measles, a disease we hardly thought about, until it was reintroduced by quack online conspiracy nuts like RFK. The blood on this weirdo’s hands is no longer just from the dead animals he is so fond of playing with.
Meanwhile, Trump’s trashing of NATO has caused Europe to nervously scramble to save Ukraine and bolster its own defenses against Russia. This will inevitably reduce America’s stature and decrease our influence—which will strengthen Russia, while weakening our military alliances that have kept us safe since the end of World War II.
The answer to Trump’s psychosis is for the civilized world to essentially unionize to maximize their power. Only by working together in lockstep, can they rein-in an out-of-control Trump regime. If each nation acts separately, they don’t have enough economic or military leverage to influence America’s rapscallion behavior. However, if Canada, Europe, Australia, Mexico and certain Latin American countries move in unison, they can put Trump in his place, while helping to save America from oblivion.
This consortium of democratic powers should kick the United States out of NATO, ban US goods and services, boost military spending, make business overtures to China and threaten to replace the dollar with another currency.
Such bold actions would crater the U.S. economy overnight--even more so than Trump is already doing. The consequences would be so shocking, swift and severe, it would force Trump to rapidly change course or risk revolution at home. While such actions are extreme, so is the neo-imperialist agenda of the Trump junta. It’s always better to slug the schoolyard bully in the nose early, rather than let him hostilely take over the cafeteria. When confronted, such insecure cowards find a way to back down.
These financially corrupt, ideologically radical MAGA termites will consume and engulf the American house down to its studs unless they are stopped. It is up to all of us, across the globe, to band together and halt their actions. These are not patriots—they are rapacious pests who only respect force. So, let’s force them to back down, because they will never do so on their own volition.
