MAGA Goons Must Be Threatened With Future Punishment

Special Emergency Commission Needed to Document Perpetrators

If American democracy is to survive, the Democratic Party is going to have to kick ass and literally take names. If they hope to succeed, they must immediately set up a shadow organization, they can call it the Truth and Consequences Commission, to promise severe punishment for MAGA hooligans who violate the United States Constitution and run roughshod over the rule of law.

The destruction of our country is happening at such breakneck speed, that a system must be enacted now to ensure that violators and perpetrators will be held fully accountable. These scoundrels should be sternly warned that when Democrats regain power, their reign of error and terror will not go unpunished.

The work of the Truth and Consequences Commission should begin by directly threatening Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s sadistic president. Currently, Bukele is mocking Democrats by flippantly pretending that he doesn’t have the power to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man mistakenly deported to El Salvador under false pretenses of gang affiliation.

The Democratic commission should tell Bukele: “You have 48 hours to put Garcia on a plane. If he isn’t on American soil, we will come for you when we regain power. We will send Navy Seals into your personal residence. If you hide, we will pluck you out of a hole like you are Saddam Hussein. We will extradite you, hold you in maximum security and put you on trial for kidnapping, assault, false imprisonment and torture. You think you’re a Big Man today. But the party will end tomorrow.”

The Trump administration will increasingly demand that citizens violate the Constitution. These people must receive advance warning that following orders is not an excuse to break the law. They must understand that If they do the crime, when Democrats regain power, they will do the time

Creating a Truth and Consequences Commission is a national emergency that can’t wait another day. The epic gaslighting of Donald Trump has entered a dangerous realm that immediately threatens the freedom of all Americans.

For example, the President absurdly claims that Garcia is a member of the notorious gang MS-13, and his proof was that Garcia had the words “MS-13” tattooed on his knuckles. The problem is, the MS-13 tattoo was superimposed on the photo of the prisoner’s hand. (Vice President JD Vance also erroneously called him a convicted gang member.)

Defying reality in the most Orwellian way imaginable, Trump attempted to browbeat ABC News reporter Terry Moran into accepting his false version of events. The New York Times reported:

Mr. Moran gingerly tried to correct the record about that, but Mr. Trump was having none of it.

“Wait a minute,” he said. “Hey, Terry. Terry. Terry.”

Mr. Moran tried again: “He did not have the letter —”

“Don’t do that,” Mr. Trump cut in. “M-S-1-3. It says M-S-1-3.”

When Mr. Moran said that those characters had been photoshopped onto the picture, Mr. Trump looked positively mutinous. The exchange went around and around as the president continued to claim, with increasing exasperation, that these numbers and letters that he so badly wanted the world to see did in fact exist in ink on this man’s knuckles.

He could not bring himself to admit that Mr. Abrego Garcia did not have the words “MS-13” tattooed on his hand.

“Why don’t you just say, ‘Yes, he does,’” Mr. Trump finally said to Mr. Moran, “and, you know, go on to something else.”

With this audacious stunt we have officially entered the realm of North Korean-level propaganda. What next, Trump will claim Nancy Pelosi is an ISIS mastermind and order his graphics department to superimpose a tattoo—or maybe gin up a deep fake video of her praising the ghost of Osama bin Laden? What American is safe from false imprisonment when incriminating evidence can be invented out of whole cloth, everyone knows it’s a lie, and yet it’s still trotted out as “evidence”?

Aside from creating a bogus tattoo, the Trump administration is justifying Garcia’s false imprisonment by claiming he wore gang attire. Judge Paula Xinis wrote in an order this month:

“The ‘evidence’ against Abrego Garcia consisted of nothing more than his Chicago Bulls hat and hoodie, and a vague, uncorroborated allegation from a confidential informant claiming he belonged to MS-13’s ‘Western’ clique in New York — a place he has never lived.”

If Garcia is a gang member, based on this flimsy evidence, so am I. A few years ago, I lived in Chicago, and as a basketball fan, I owned a Chicago Bulls hat and hoodie. What’s to stop the police from kicking down my door, then having a MAGA graphic artist give me fake online tattoos to justify sending me to a foreign concentration camp? What’s to stop this from happening to you or your family?

What’s interesting is that any Latino with a tattoo is immediately stereotyped as Pablo Escobar incarnate. Yet, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sports white supremacist and Christian nationalist tattoos, such as a large Jerusalem Cross and the words “Deus vult”, which is linked to the Crusades. Joseph Kent, Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the National Counterterrorism Center, has a panzer tattoo—which is the name of a fearsome nazi tank. Any chance these malevolent monsters are going to be sent to El Salvador for their disturbing ink?

We are in a 5-Alarm fire with our liberty on the line. The blatant lies, outright deception and wanton cruelty, with no due process, are the types of predatory state actions that can lead to civil strife or even civil war.

Those participating, at any level, in this cruel campaign must be told there will be a terrible price to pay for their acquiescence to evil. This includes members of the U.S. military, who will soon have to decide if their loyalty to Trump supersedes their allegiance to the Constitution. If Trump orders soldiers to shoot peaceful protesters, for example, service members need to understand, in advance, it’s their duty to lay down arms and not blindly follow orders.

A Truth and Consequences Commission must also warn lawyers of certain disbarment if they openly defy the law. For instance, any lawyer aiding and abetting Trump’s attempt to serve a third term should not be allowed to ever practice law again once the Democrats regain power.

Fortunately, a few key Democrats seem to understand the precarious moment we are living in. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said last week:

“It’s time to fight everywhere and all at once. Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. The reckoning is finally here.”

Like a good fascist, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller responded to Pritzker’s remarks in New Hampshire by saying, “if nothing else, could be construed as inciting violence.” This is an attempt by Miller to silence critics by threatening police intervention.

We cannot be intimidated or deterred by such totalitarian tactics. It's time to fight back with everything in our power while we still can. The quest for dictatorship is marching on and the Army is even planning for a potential military parade on Trump’s birthday in June. The Associated Press learned that the event, costing tens-of-millions-of-dollars (attention DOGE), would include “more than 6,600 soldiers, at least 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, seven bands and possibly a couple thousand civilians.”

If this obscene display of malignant narcissism isn’t a sign of dictatorial designs, I’m not sure what is. Trump has indicated his autocratic intent and it’s time Democrats state their unambiguous response by launching a Truth and Consequences Commission.

MAGA only understands muscle. These no-good, unpatriotic goons must be made to comprehend that when Democrats wrest back control of America, the pernicious acts committed under the Trump junta will be met with the severest punishment imaginable.
