Destroy Israel Inc. Must Finally End for Peace to Prevail
It’s the Right Time to End Iran’s Reign of Terror and Tyranny
Peace in the Middle East will only be achieved by decapitating Destroy Israel Inc., which is led by Iran and supplemented by a handful of countries trapped by its imperialist tentacles. This nefarious alliance of terrorists and religious fanatics continues to threaten Israel’s existence, undermines U.S. national security interests, colonizes the Arab world and brutally oppresses its citizens.
After firing more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel today, this ballooning threat must finally be dealt with. The US and Israel can start by dropping bunker buster bombs on Iran’s nuclear facilities – so Tehran doesn’t become the new North Korea of the Middle East. This should be followed up by sinking Iran’s navy, eliminating its Airforce and hitting missile and drone factories and storage facilities.
The final stage of this attack should be regime change. Since 1979, the fundamentalist mullahs have enslaved Iran’s women, terrorized the LGBTQ population, thwarted democracy and violently smashed political opposition to its barbaric, theocratic rule. The beleaguered citizens of Iran deserve a chance to live in a normal country, without being stalked by medieval morality police.
There are those who erroneously blame Israel for the current strife. But Israel only retaliates against those who attack it first. You might not like the way Israel responded in Gaza, but Israel bombed Gaza only after terrorists murdered, mutilated, raped and kidnapped 1,200 Israeli citizens.
In the north, Israel endured 11 months of rocket and drone attacks from Iran’s Lebanese satellite Hezbollah, which stands for The Party of God, before responding with appropriate force.
Hezbollah’s bombs had cleared out much of Northern Israel, displacing more than 65,000 civilians. No country in the world would accept such brazen attacks on its sovereignty. The leaders of Hezbollah started this fight, and it is Israel’s right to finish it, whether by blowing up pagers and walkie talkies or eliminating the terrorist organization’s leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah. They picked this fight and finally got what was coming to them.
Haters of Israel never seem to be able to answer the question: If Israel is the problem, why isn’t the tiny country (the size of New Jersey) bombing Arab nations it is at peace with? Israel isn’t at war with Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, or Morocco—and no one is dying in deadly conflicts.
The moral of the story is that Israel is a friendly, peaceful neighbor to those who don’t try to wipe it off the face of the earth. Instead of cultivating peace, Iran has created its so-called Axis of Resistance, surrounding Israel with a terrorist “ring of fire”. This repugnant coalition includes, the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and the West Bank and Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Syria.
Iran’s tyrannical leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, this week called for a Muslim jihad against Israel, writing on social media, “the blows struck by the Resistance Front on the worn-out, deteriorating body of the Zionist regime will become even more crushing.” Javad Zarif, Iran’s vice president for strategic affairs, said, “Iran’s reaction will take place at the right time and according to Iran’s choice against the crimes of the Zionist regime.”
Given this open and clearly articulated existential threat, Israel has an obligation to protect its citizens. We, who sit safely in the West moralizing about Israel’s actions, would not tolerate being surrounded by enemies calling for our destruction. We would not put up with 9,000 rockets being fired at our families, as Israelis have endured this year on the Lebanese border. We would not sit idly by when an enemy fired almost 500 missiles, as Iran has done in its two attacks on Israel this year. Yet, too many people arrogantly expect Israel to endure these deadly barrages with a smile, while restraining themselves from self-defense.
The current conflagration could have easily been avoided. United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which was written in 2006, demanded that Hezbollah leave Israel’s border and move its troops and 150,000 missiles north of the Litani River. (Although recent Israeli airstrikes are estimated to have destroyed half of Hezbollah’s arsenal)
Instead of complying, Hezbollah turned Southern Lebanon into a gigantic military base, which essentially served as a gun to Israel’s head. Israel patiently refrained from decisive action for a year, while calling on Hezbollah to obey 1701.
The terrorist group repeatedly laughed and spit in Israel’s face. Now Hezbollah’s leadership is decimated, the country’s south is in ruins and even Beirut is threatened with destruction. It’s a tragedy for Lebanon’s innocent civilians, but they are hostages of Hezbollah, which brought destruction to the bedraggled nation because they didn’t submit to the commands of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The Lebanese people have no one to blame but Hezbollah and their zealot masters in Tehran for this tragic situation.
Speaking of the UN, this biased, anti-Israel entity must do more to purge its ranks of militants involved in Destroy Israel Inc., before it squanders further credibility. The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel assassinated Hamas’s top leader in Lebanon with an airstrike on Monday. When he wasn’t engaged in his hobby of working to erase Israel, the terrorist was a high-ranking employee of the main United Nations relief agency serving Palestinians:
Hamas said the man, Fateh al-Sharif, died in Tyre in southern Lebanon. The U.N. Relief and Works Agency, known as Unrwa, said Sharif worked for the agency as a school principal, and was also head of the union representing thousands of teachers. He was placed on leave without pay in March after the agency opened an investigation into his political activities.
Given the incontrovertible truth that Israel exclusively targets enemies that attack it, protests from world leaders are increasingly absurd. One outspoken Israel-basher is Turkish autocrat Tayyip Erdogan who said on Monday, "The U.N. General Assembly should rapidly implement the authority to recommend the use of force [against Israel], as it did with the 1950 Uniting for Peace resolution, if the Security Council can't show the necessary will.”
Are we talking about the same Turkey that slaughtered Armenians in a 1915 genocide, when it was still the Ottoman Empire? Is it the same Turkey that brutally suppresses Kurdish dreams of a homeland with unsparing military force?
If the Palestinians are deserving of a country, why aren’t the Kurds, who were loyal United States allies during the war in Iraq? If Erdogan continues his belligerence toward Israel, perhaps Jerusalem should heavily arm the Kurds and help them win independence? Erdogan’s derangement towards the Kurds is so severe, that Turkey endangered US national security by protractedly blocking Sweden’s ascension into NATO because Sweden protected the right of Kurdish dissidents living on its soil to speak out against Turkish oppression.
Those who support the Palestinian cause should also welcome the elimination of Destroy Israel Inc. Hamas’ psychotic strategy has been to terrorize Israel in hopes of provoking a wider war, where, in its deranged fantasy, Iran and its surrogates join the fight and Israel ceases to exist.
In service of this grandiose delusion, Hamas squandered billions of dollars on importing lethal rockets and building tunnels to attack Israelis, as they did on October 7. They built their terrorist infrastructure underneath schools, hospitals, residential neighborhoods and mosques. The goal was to maximize civilian casualties of their own people to gain the world’s sympathy.
Sure, it provided social media likes and a few college protests, but ordinary Palestinians are living on top of rubble and children are drinking from sewage puddles. How’s that “resistance” working out for Hamas and the innocent Palestinians trapped in its futile, eternal Jihad?
One can fairly question whether Israel is using excessive force in Gaza. But no right-minded individual can blame Israel for turning Gaza into a terrorist, subterranean military base that deliberately places civilians, including children, in the way of bombs intended to neutralize Hamas’ war machine. In that respect, blame can be placed at the feet of Hamas.
It's interesting, but Israel was created in 1948 and went on to build a modern, prosperous society. In 1949, the Chinese government escaped mainland communists and fled to Taiwan. They could have spent the next several decades plotting to overthrow Beijing and triumphantly return to their homes. Instead, Taiwan built a successful democracy and is now the world leader in producing semiconductors.
Meanwhile, the Palestinians are perpetually stuck in 1947, arming themselves to the teeth, hijacking airplanes, using suicide bombers to blow up restaurants and bus stops and taking hostages. They are so focused on the past that they have no future.
If Destroy Israel Inc. is eradicated, including the disappearance or diminishment of Hamas, the Palestinians would no longer be able to entertain the pipe dream that Iran and its proxies are coming to save them. They could spend money on their people, rather than munitions to kill Jews. In the end, the Palestinians could have their own country, rather than serve as western pawns for a trendy cause that does nothing to improve their lives.
The elimination of Destroy Israel Inc. would also benefit Israel in many tangible ways. As long as the Jewish State is on the precipice of annihilation, it will continue electing cynical and corrupt right wing politicians like Benjamin Netanyahu, Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, who promise security at the expense of civil liberties. Severely weakening the threat of Iran and its proxies would provide the political space to create a better Israel that is more sympathetic to civil rights and the future of Palestinians.
Israel can no longer live on the cusp of calamity. Iran has terrorized the neighborhood long enough and its repugnant regime of fanatics must end. Until this geopolitical realignment occurs, there is little hope for peace in the Middle East. There has never been a better opportunity to reshape the region and create light at the end of the long tunnel of Iranian terrorism that has bedeviled the world since 1979.
